Dr. Cheryl D. Walker is a native of Silver Spring, MD. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from Hampton University, and a M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Louisville. While completing an Ed.D in Leadership Education from Spalding University she completed a national survey of wives of pastors which provided data for her dissertation topic, “An Exploratory Study of the Ways of Coping of Wives of African American Baptist Pastors”.

Dr. Walker is a nationally certified senior professional in human resources (SPHR). She has worked for seven federal agencies throughout the U.S. as a Human Resources professional. She is the former Director of Compliance and Investigations for Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville, Kentucky. As the wife of Dr. T. Vaughn Walker, Senior Pastor of First Gethsemane Baptist Church, Louisville, KY, they are the proud parents of 3 children. Dr. Cheryl Walker is an ordained associate minister who serves her local church in numerous teaching capacities. She has conducted workshops and retreats throughout the country and internationally.

Dr. Walker has a passion to see the people of God fulfill their God ordained purpose. One of her favorite scriptures is Psalm 57:2 (NLT) which states “I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill His purpose for me.”
